Ingredients
-
1 1/2 to 2 pounds Flank steak
-
1/4 cup Soy sauce
-
1/4 cup Olive Oil
-
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
-
2 cloves, minced Garlic
-
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
-
1 tablespoon Brown sugar
-
1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
-
1/2 teaspoon (optional) Smoked paprika
-
Salt to taste
Directions
- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if using). Make sure the brown sugar is well dissolved.
- Marinate the Flank Steak:
- Place the flank steak in a shallow dish or a large resealable plastic bag.
- Pour the marinade over the steak, making sure it’s well coated.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.
- Preheat the Grill or Skillet:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, or if you’re using a skillet, heat it over medium-high heat.
- Grill or Cook the Flank Steak:
- If using a grill, remove the flank steak from the marinade and discard excess marinade. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time according to your desired level of doneness.
- If using a skillet, heat a bit of oil in the skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and place it in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.
- Rest and Slice:
- Once the steak is cooked to your liking, remove it from the grill or skillet and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
- After resting, slice the flank steak thinly against the grain for maximum tenderness.
- Serve:
- Serve the sliced flank steak with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad.
Enjoy your deliciously marinated and grilled flank steak!
