Ingredients
-
2 to 3 ripe and mashed Bananas
-
1/2 cup (1 stick) melted Unsalted butter
-
1 cup Granulated sugar
-
2 Large eggs
-
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
-
1 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon Baking powder
-
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
-
1/2 teaspoon Salt
-
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans) Optional
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter.
- Add the granulated sugar to the banana mixture and stir well to combine.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine. If you’re adding nuts, fold them into the batter at this point.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The baking time may vary, so start checking around 50 minutes and adjust accordingly.
- Once done, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Enjoy your homemade banana bread! You can store it in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days, or refrigerate it to keep it longer.
