-
1 cup All-purpose flour
-

-
1 cup Breadcrumbs
-
1 teaspoon (Optional) Italian seasoning
-
For frying Oil
-
For dipping Marinara sauce
Directions
- Prepare a breading station by placing the flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in another dish, and breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning (optional) in a third dish.
- Take each mozzarella stick and coat it in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured mozzarella stick into the beaten eggs, making sure it is completely coated.
- Roll the mozzarella stick in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the breadcrumbs stick to the cheese.
- Repeat steps 2-4 with all the mozzarella sticks.
- Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze them for about 30 minutes. This will help them hold their shape during frying.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a deep fryer or a deep pot to about 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully drop the frozen mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, frying them in small batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the fried cheese sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve the mozzarella sticks while they are still warm with marinara sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
Note: Be cautious when handling hot oil and make sure to follow proper safety precautions.
