  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the ground beef or turkey to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld together and the sauce to thicken slightly. If the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a little water or broth to thin it out.
  5. Taste the sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the sweet and spicy spaghetti sauce over cooked spaghetti noodles. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
  7. Enjoy your delicious sweet and spicy spaghetti sauce!
